Do you have a love-hate relationship with Lightroom? I have felt the same way. For SURE. I get it, as a photographer, you want to take beautiful pictures. You want to be creative. You want to execute a vision.
You do NOT want to spend hours and hours behind the computer screen. I remember every styled shoot I photographed was thrilling! Prepping for and actually being at the shoot made me giddy. THAT is what I loved to focus on as a photographer. Seeing the images on the computer is of course exciting, but having to spend extra time figuring out how to work software in order to process and edit those images is not something I wanted to do.
Now, as a private editor things obviously switched because I was now the one at the computer editing for other photographers. It was more enjoyable to be editing when I wasn’t ALSO photographing the event or session.
However, I still needed to learn how to be more efficient. It might sound obvious, but my editing skills improved drastically once I was editing 4, 5, and 6 weddings each week. I discovered how to use the tools better, speed up editing time (up to 300/hour depending on image prep from the photographer), and keep consistency throughout the catalog. It is like a well oiled machine that I have perfected after editing over 1000 weddings.
I am excited to start sharing some of the valuable Lightroom tips and tricks that are essential to a good editing workflow.
